Vehicle repair and vehicle upgrades and modifications has been a growing area of business at The Cylinder Service Centre in recent years. In fact, the current premises was specifically designed to make it easier for larger transport vehicles to enter the site and be held securely during the maintenance stay.
As part of an ongoing programme to develop our capacity and capabilities in this area, The Cylinder Service Centre has this month completed the installation of a swing crane specifically dedicated to vehicle maintenance and other vehicle hydraulic engineering.
The crane has a capacity of 3 tons at its full swing of 8 meters and is a full 5.6 meters under the beam. This means that it can be used to assist with, not only repairs to wagon body tipping gears, but also the installation of complete new bodies.
This new installation therefore means that additional and more challenging repairs and modifications can be undertaken. It also means that existing types of work can be executed quicker - reducing overall lead time.
Managing Director Gary Davison said: "This new crane installation is a further improvement to both the breadth and depth of service offerings to our customers and is a welcome addition to our site facilities".
