Mining and Quarrying
The coal mining industry in the UK is now quite small and is concentrated mainly in Warwickshire and Yorkshire. However other mining, open cast mining and quarrying are more widespread around the country.
Contrary to common perceptions there has been a small, but steady growth in the mining industry in recent years. The heavy equipment used for both extraction and transport all use hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders extensively and so, as you might imagine, mining is a busy market segment for the Cylinder Service Centre.
As with so many other industries we work in, it is vitally important that the expensive capital equipment employed in mining, quarrying and raw material transport are functional for as much of normal operating time as possible - quite often 24 hour operations.
