Chrome, Electroplating and Surface Coatings
All types & sizes of hard chrome electroplating can be undertaken - ranging in sizes up to 18 meters and including:
- Nickel/Chrome electroplating
- Bronze/chrome plating.
- Internal bore hard chrome electroplating.
- Electroless nickel plating
- Re-chroming of existing equipment
- Nitride coatings
- Ceramic coatings
- Re-sizing of worn or damaged areas.
- Corrosion protection coatings applied.
- Hard protective coatings applied.
Nickel/Chrome electroplating
Often used for decorative purposes, chrome plating can also provide effective corrosion resistance and increased surface hardness.
Bronze/Chrome Plating
This approach is useful in creating additional corrosion resistance, but can also be used to seal the substrate before subsequent hard chroming.
Internal Bore Hard Chrome Electroplating
In conjuction with our honing capability we can also offer internal bore hard chrome plating which provides a smooth hardwearing and corrosion resistant surface for the inside of cylinders - benefitting performance as well as overall assembly life.
Electroless Nickel Plating
This type of nickel plating is used to deposit a coating of nickel on metal or plastic, to prevent corrosion and wear. Applying the coating without the need for electrical charges can provide a more even surface and, correctly configured, can depsoit on to non-conducticve surfaces such as plastic.
Re-chroming of Existing Equipment
This can be a repair, or a complete strip and re-surface depending upon the condition, performance requirements, or overall budgetary constraints.
Ceramic Coatings
Ceramic coatings can be especially useful in internal applications providing configurble surface properities that can hold lubricants in place reducing both friction and fluid loss.
Nitride Coatings
A type of ceramic coating that is especially useful in high temperature applications.
Re-sizing of Worn or Damaged Areas
Often a coating is applied to re-build a worn component that has had be machined to remove corrosion, or pitting.
Corrosion Protection Coatings
As mentioned above, a number of different types of coating have ant-corrosion properties. Our in-house design team can provide advice on the right type of coating to use to minimise future corrosion issues.
Hard Protective Coatings
As with corrosion prevention, there are options available on coatings depending upon the hardness required. Our design team can offer support as required in this area.
